Healthy Lunch Box Award

Each day a 'Healthy Lunch Box Award' will be given to a student who has made healthy snack and lunch choices. A big thank you to the lunch packers :) Please return these awards in their lunch boxes the following day.

Reminders

The school has been advised by the NZEI te Riu Roa that it is holding a paid union meeting for teachers next Monday 18 October. Accordingly, the school's teaching staff will be unavailable after 12.15pm on that date and we ask that you collect your child then.

Also, a reminder that Friday 22 October is a Teacher Only Day and children are not to attend school.

Whitebait Expert

Mike Hickford came to talk to us about whitebait. It was very interesting and we learnt lots of new information about these local delicacies. We will be learning about whitebait in Term 4 so this was a great start to our learning journey.

Visitor

Last term Room 6 had a special helper. Miss Watson's dad came in to help us with our sight word, alphabet and spelling testing. Afterwards he read a book that he had made about a family trip to Punakaiki.

Buddy Reading

Every Friday we buddy read with Room 2. A selection of students from this Year 5/6 class come and read with us. We take turns reading our chosen book to each other. It helps us improve our reading and practise our reading strategies.

Room Six's Brand Spanking New Blog!

Kia ora and welcome back for Term 4!

I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday. This is Room Six's new blog where we will adventure together into cyberspace.
